LOST CLASS RING TAG
Around the first of March 2011 Keith contacted me via email at my Lost Ring Finders web site. He had lost his Texas A&M class ring while gardening at his cattle ranch. We arranged to meet there March 12th and after a brief visit and configuring my metal detectors we set out to find his lost ring. The search area was relatively small and his recollection of the day's events when it was lost led me to a quick recovery. Within 5 minutes of searching with my Fisher F4 Detector the treasured Aggie Ring was back on his finger. Keith was very happy, so was I. As it turns out this ring has a great deal of sentimental value. Keith graduated from Texas A&M with his wife, they stood next to each other on stage to receive diplomas. The ring had very meaningful inscription on the inside written in cursive (ring companies no longer do this). My job complete before noon I decided to spend the remainder of the day treasure hunting Needville Texas school grounds and a Brazos river bottom sand bar. All in all it was a great and satisfying Saturday. There is no better feeling on the planet than finding lost treasure for someone.

A video of this Ring Search and Recovery is posted below the picture of Keith's Aggie Ring with Diamond.

Mid July Lost Ring:

In mid July while working in his back yard Kary, lives in Gonzales Louisiana, lost his platinum wedding band digging an 8" trench. He and his wife Jessica searched hours to no avail for the ring in the dirt and mud. In despair she fired up her computer and found my web site, Lost Ring Finders.

Jessica sent an email detailing the loss and was obviously very upset it could not be found. She asked if I could help, they were desparate. I assured her with a reply email I would do my best to find someone with a metal detector to help her and Kary. The ring is still there so the probablilty of recovery is VERY high! I advised them to not dig anymore, "if the ring gets too far into the ground a metal detector will not pick it up, especially platinum having very low conductivity".
I had a beach hunt planned that pm with friends Scott and Brett so the search for a person had to wait until the next day, that gave me time to consider how I wanted to approach this situation.

The next day on my laptop an internet search led to several dead ends, phones not in service and unreturned messages. I stumbled upon an advertisement for a metal detector dealer in Brusly La, about 20 miles NNW of Gonzales. I called the number listed and a lady told me her husband no longer sold metal detectors, then he walked into the house and she put him on the phone. I told him (Boyd) "this is gonna sound pretty weird but please bare with me, my name is John Jordan, I live Friendswood, Texas and..............(details of who I am and what I do)" He indicated he no longer sold metal detectors but did own one and would be happy to help if possible. I gave Jessica Boyd's email address and phone number, I also talked to her on the phone.

After a month and then some I get this letter from Kary somebody and it does not register at first (we never spoke or emailed, just Jessica)? He is thanking someone named Boyd for finding his ring and I am the CC. In a few seconds it hit me, WOW BOYD FOUND HIS RING!!!

Congratulation Boyd, GREAT JOB SIR!!!

Congratulations as well to Jessica and Kary on the successful ring recovery!!!

Kind Regards to all three of you.

Here is text of the letter she sent last evening:

Hi John,

As I am sure you know by now, we found Kary's ring. I know Kary sent you an
email already, but I just wanted to thank you again. No words can express
how much it means to us to have found his ring, and you were a very
important part of that. I am sincerely grateful and can't thank you enough.

Jessica

Message Kary sent to Boyd:

Hey Boyd,

I can't thank you enough for helping us to find my wedding ring.

If there were more good people in the world like y'all then it would be a
better place.
I know you wouldn't take any money or anything, but if ever you are in need
and in our area, you have my number.

The inscription in the ring says, "I WILL KEEP YOU FOREVER". And now because
of your selflessness, I get the chance to do just that.

Thanks again,
Kary *****

Lives change when we help others. Boyd, Jessica and Kary are friends for life now and I am extremely happy to be a small part of this.

Wednesday August 11 2010 I met my treasure hunting buddies TXCoindigger, DiggerDun and OTlew (The Hole In The Beach Gang) at Stewart Beach Galveston, Texas for a late afternoon and evening treasure hunt. The weather was pleasant for a change, cloudy and cooler than normal. As I started hunting near the towel line a stranger with a metal detector approached. We shook hands, he told me he was from San Antonio. After a short conversation he walked away. In passing an umbrella he looked back and said "Someone lost a ring there, I tried to find it with no luck" (pointing at the sand) and then continued on his way. Fifty feet later I was at the umbrella. I double checked to see that my Fisher F4 was in All Metal mode then swung the coil. On the first pass of the Double D coil a strong signal was heard through my earphones! I switched to All Metal Discriminate Mode to check the Fisher VDI number. It was 27, definitely in the gold range. With my scoop I removed some sand and there is was, a beautiful gold ring with two blue stones! The people from this area were apparently in the water so I walked on a bit and developed a plan to have the person identify the ring and then return it. Soon that occurred, a young lady ran in from the surf and identified the ring and said "This is wonderful, I lost my ring an hour ago in the beach sand & you found it for me!" . I presented it to her and she was very happy. The ring was handed down from her Great Aunt. A video of that find and return is attached to this blog.

My good friend Ray and I were in the process of planning a trip to his father’s ranch in Central Texas on the Guadalupe River near the town of Boerne. Ray was in contact with his father letting him know we were coming in a couple of weeks. During the conversation his father mentioned he was very sad for he had lost his favorite pocket knife handed down by Ray’s Grandfather. My friend asked his Dad “where” on the ranch? “Near the feed trough by the old home site I reckon, was using it to cut feed bags open” he replied. Ray told him “John has a metal detector, maybe he can bring it along”. Since it was very muddy and cattle were everywhere Ray’s Father looked to no avail on that rainy day for his knife, it was gone. By the time Ray and I made the trip the area around the feed trough had dried somewhat and we could see with all the hoof prints why his father had no luck. That area was a mess with large and small limestone rocks everywhere. Within 15 minutes I received a faint signal on top of a flat limestone rock approximately 2 inches thick and 12 or so inches in diameter. We turned the rock over and to our amazement THERE WAS THE TREASURED POCKET KNIFE caked in semi dried mud! Apparently a cow had moved the rock on top of the pocket knife. We cleaned the keepsake in the water trough then headed back to the ranch house. Dad was drinking his afternoon coffee at the kitchen table. I placed the knife on the table next to his cup and said “Here you go sir, we found it“. I will remember the smile on his face forever. Finding Ray’s father’s pocket knife 42 years ago still creates a vivid and happy image in my mind.

<![CDATA[LOST WEDDING RING TAG Lost Ring At Galveston Beach? Taking Quick Action Is Important!]]>Tue, 04 May 2010 16:29:04 GMThttp://lostringfinders.com/lrf-blog/1Time is of the essence when rings are lost in public places, particularly beaches, for the window of opportunity closes rapidly in high traffic areas. DO NOT dig the beach sand yourself, the ring may descend past the detector’s capability. I can make a difference in successfully recovering your jewelry in all areas SE of Houston.

I use proven on site search methods to quickly find what you have lost, be it your ring, car keys, bracelet, watch, ear rings, necklace, pendant etc…..if it is made of metal I can find it!

In instances of gold, silver or platinum rings lost on private property the opposite holds true. Even if years, possibly decades have passed do not give up, send an email or call today for it is never too late to recover what you may think is gone forever…more than likely it is still there.

I will locate YOUR TREASURE for reward only! A small fee to cover fuel expense will get me on location ASAP.
